Maybe this has been answered before (if so, I’m sorry and all I need is a redirect or reference to research). Alternatively, if it’s something that’s personal to each and every individual, that’s one thing. But in my experience few things are so completely unique to everyone, there are usually common threads.

I’m submissive (but only sexually, and even then not always). I’ve tried to examine myself and understand what’s causing this particular peculiarity of mine (and it seems many others). Could it just be an unfulfilled fantasy? Lack of sexual confidence (hence the desire to be passive?) None of these ring true for me.

So I’m asking the broader community, why?
