how can i strive to be a better femdom?

im a switch by nature but for some reason every time i am expected to play the dom role, i freeze up and get super scared to do anything. i am always reassured that what i am doing doesn't hurt, in fact it is pleasurable, but i can't get out of the mindset that it's going to hurt the other person. it just ruins the vibe and session ends shortly after.
