Fantasy world with magic and gods. You can gain power through your own merit, though you can also gain it through sacrifice to the gods.

The goddess Dilectio Negantia, is special to women due to the very clear and defined path to power she gives. She’s even willing to give the power temporarily, meaning the sacrifice is only temporary.

This goddess gains power through female pleasure. The problem is that once the woman orgasms, all that power is released. So her sacrifice is very straightforward. Should a woman sacrifice her ability to orgasm to her, Dilectio Negantia will in exchange give her power.

There are of course stipulations. You can’t just give up your orgasms for a week and expect to have the power of a goddess.

The first condition is time. The longer you go, the more power you receive. This condition is simple and the most concrete. It is said that mindset is important for this condition. That if you equally hate and love the duration given, the power received will be more potent.

The second condition is actually knowing the pleasure of an orgasm. To not know something and to give it up is meaningless. The great thing about this condition is that the more familiar you are with the pleasures of an orgasm, the stronger the blessings will be. This condition is also considered a curse of sorts. Should the woman’s sacrifice be accepted, she will clearly and instantly remember her most pleasurable orgasm. It will be a constant reminder of what she can’t have.

The third condition is dedication. For if you never try to feel the pleasure of an orgasm, there is no point in giving it up. Dilectio Negantia gains power through female pleasure. The more often the woman who sacrifices pleasures herself, the more power she will receive.

There are of course smaller considerations but these three are the main ones to keep in mind.

And due to the clearness of this power more than a few nations have set out to milk this power for all that it’s worth.

Women are carefully selected, trained, and developed to gain power for their nation through the sacrifice. Most are not cut out for the true power. Most are not true of heart enough to make the sacrifice that truly catches Dilectio Negantia’s eye. Sure some try anyway, but Dilectio Negantia can see into their hearts and know their words to be empty. It’s never held against them though, it just means they’re journeys to ultimate power are still ongoing.

Well this was just an idea I had. I’ve even thought of a special class of tenders whose whole job is to help their candidate reach the peak of power! I haven’t really fleshed out the idea in its entirety.

I’m not sure if I’ll ever expand on it, but this seemed like the best place to get ideas and criticism for what I have so far.
