This is one of the fragrances I have so many wonderful childhood scent memories with!

When I was a child, my mother wore Dior Poison as one of her signature fragrances, and my sweet Dad decided he wanted to get her a backup bottle for Valentine’s Day, and ended up buying her Hypnotic Poison on accident. Not wanting to break his heart, my mother quietly gave Hypnotic Poison a chance and ended up hating it on herself. Thus, she handed it down to little baby ladyvamplips, and it because one of the first full bottles of fragrances to make its way into my “ dress up “ toy chest! I wore this pretending to be a princess, to special events and holidays, anything I dressed up as a kid, you can bet I was wearing one too many sprays of Hypnotic Poison!

I’ve been through PLENTY of bottles since, and it’s one of the fragrances my family has learned to associate with me as the years have gone by, and that’s always a great feeling.

This fragrance is very linear on me! From start to finish, I get coconut, almond, vanilla, and a touch of sandalwood. Thankfully, I really don’t pick up any of the floral notes on my skin. I personally don’t get any of the “ play dough “ note on myself that some people get from this fragrance, but I do have a friend that this smells like nothing but salty play dough on her skin, so I don’t recommend blind buying this one unless you’re almost sure these notes play well with your body chemistry.

This fragrance wears fairly close to the skin on me. For the first hour or so I do get a good arms length sillage but it does quickly settle down to maybe a foot and a half of sillage around me, but it does leave a very nice trail. The wear on this isn’t the most impressive. I do have to reapply around 4 hours ( maybe 5 on a good day ) into the wear of the fragrance, otherwise the only way anyone would be able to pick this fragrance up on my skin during the 5th and 6th hour of wear with this fragrance is if they gave me a hug, were cuddling with me, or maybe sitting next to me in a car... with the windows rolled up!

In a perfect world this fragrance would be a five stars across the board fragrance for me, but I will have to knock down a point because of the wear time, but I won’t like and say I won’t continue to repurchase this for as long as Dior continues to make it!
