If you have been a fan of the original Flowerbomb for as long as I have been ( been wearing it’s on and off since around 2008 ) then you would probably also love this much welcomes “ update “ to the original Flowerbomb.

Flowerbomb Nectar will quite a few of the original defining notes in the original, most notably: patchouli, jasmine, orange blossom, osmanthus, bergamot, but the addition of gunpowder, Cassis, vanilla and benzoine in Flowerbomb Nectar is what really ties things together and modernizes the scent for me! It’s not mentioned in the note breakdown, but just like with the original Flowerbomb, I go get a fairly present licorice note in this fragrance. This plays wonderfully on the skin with the very prominent benzoine note.

This fragrance is VERY linear on me. It is probably one of the heaviest fragrance I own so I and very strict on only wearing this during fall and winter, otherwise it becomes very cloying and headache inducing for me in the warmer months.

I am very surprised that regardless of this being such a sweet and dense fragrance on me, the sillage isn’t TOO big ( a little shy of arms length ) and the staying power is only around 5 or 6 hours before this becomes a skin scent on me, though if I overspray in the morning I can get a full days wear with a pretty good sillage, though the final hours do still wear fairly close to the skin.

I will say that in 2021 I do enjoy this flanker way more than the original Flowerbomb, but I wouldn’t say this is a staple in my collection. I do love having it around and getting wear out of this, but if something were to happen to my bottle or I ran out sooner than later I don’t necessarily see myself rushing out to replace this anytime soon.

Regardless of me not being crazy about this fragrance, I do think that anyone who is looking for a more modern or grown up alternative to the original Flowerbomb, I think this is a wonderful upgrade.
