Remapping mmo mouse side buttons

I just paid for a gaming mouse that has the side buttons because I play world of warcraft. My question is how can I just remap the keys on the side of the mouse to something other? Currently they are set to 1-9 is the same but 10 is 0, 11 is -, and 12 is =. This means if I try to map most of my mouse buttons it will remove one of the buttons from my keyboard since they overlap. I want to change them so it will be something unique to the mouse so I can have 12 extra keys to map my abilities too. I am using Fedora 40 with Wayland and NVIDIA if that matters.
