Warning for all express drivers. Company dont care about there drivers just there profits.
Post Body

I was a swing for 4 years and enjoyed it here in LA. Of course I heard good and bad things about express but I figured why not give it a shot. To make it short I was fired about 5 months ago for what corporate called it "falsification of signature". I remember the delivery like it was yesterday and the person who signed it seemed legit and was inside the buisness. In the end the buisness claimed they were closed and nobody was on-site. I remember the person's name which I put and documented in my statement. The package apparently had 4500 dollars in cash and the buisness had no cameras in the front desk. After speaking to the Manager of the business which my manager had me go back while still working the guy was very chill about it and said he thinks they might have been set up. They asked how the person looked which I gave them the name and description of the person. After that my managers brought me in and gave me a suspension with pay first until they investigated. After the week of my suspension management said I was being fired for falsification and that I should have verified that the person worked there.? I was pissed but didn't make a big scene since all the managers were always good to me. Talked to senior manager and said he was going to look into this but in the end it's out of his hands. Currently I was able to find a job elsewhere in computers and going back to school to get my associates and become an eletrician. I am in the process of suing fedex express since my sister's husband is a lawyer and said this was unfair of them to have fired me. I have statements from the buisness manager who agreed to cooperate and provided his statement to my lawyer. He also added that he personally spoke to higher management by phone and told them that it was not really my fault since they believed that person was an old employee and had somehow gotten access to go in the buisness. The guy supported me and was shocked that they had fired me. He offered me a job which is where I'm working at lol. In the end fedex just didn't seemed to care and all they wanted to do was to blame me for it. Managers at my station were cool and not mad at any of them since they just follow orders. I'm hoping to get financially compensated for the wages I lost and since I was rejected unemployment. Whatever else comes out of it I'll be okay with it but I just feel like this company don't give a shit about its drivers. Keep your eyes open to all you express drivers and always get signatures for buisnesses.
