I've never seen anyone mentioning this scene on here so I thought I'd share my thoughts.
It's a scene that struck me because the song choice was so adequate. With Nick lounging in the pool and Travis jogging, we have some of the last scenes of "normalcy" in the show. And I though it was quite fitting how the first few shots looked peaceful and nothing looked "off", no mention of the outbreak or of the world going to shit. It really gave the feeling that our main characters were trying to hold on to their daily routine a little longer before the inevitable and constant struggle to survive. It sort of mirrored the song: peaceful lyrics but a sad, nostalgic melody, kind of a paradox in a way and that really hit me when I saw the scene.
Slowly, they introduced elements that brought us back to the characters' reality: Daniel's wife with her infected foot, Chris filling us in on what happened duting the small time jump and noticing a light beyond the fence... And of course, the lyrics "you just keep me hanging on" fading into the chilling music of the title sequence. Overall I think they made a very clever choice pairing that scene and that song. It felt like saying goodbye to the old world pre-apocalypse and entering the new world, the world of survival and fear.
