I love deconstruction of Le'garde

Fear and Hunger is a series that, to me at least, is unique in that it ties to do very specific thing (this grimdark fantasy setting ala Berserk or Claymore) and it doesn't always succeed, right? I would say that first game was, for example, much weaker than second game, where the dev improved A LOT of narrative things. But despite that, looking at the whole series so far, I fucking love what they are doing with Le'garde.

So, it is clear that he is a Griffith-like figure, right? A "chosen savior" who "wishes to unite the world because he is destined to" and "is willing to go through pain to get that". And what it amounts to? He gets tortured and killed alone, his girl ghoulifies him, and when he finally reaches the ascension, humanity already doesn't give a fuck about him because of some little girl, so now he is spiraling into fascism to "manifest his destiny".

Le'garde is a fucking loser, a nerd, a punching bag, and the least important part of the narrative despite how he is built up - I mean, think about it, the most "importance" he can claim is that "he is related to something higher than himself". This is partially why I love that the dev decided to give him the name of Yellow King.

We know who Yellow King is in mythos, and I just love Le'garde's descent into corruption and insanity born out, when you think about it, inadequacy. Makes me wonder if in F&H3 we might see him as some sort of Zalgo-esk creature, just blob of flesh trying to "pull everything into itself" as the last ditch effort in "saving humanity".

I think one of the key reasons why I love this all so much is D'arce tho - like, if you start splitting hair, it is sorta all her fault, right? Like, sure, he died, but if she didn't bring him back he at least could die with dignity - and because of that, D'arce bringing him back as a ghoul because of how he treated her is so comedically ironic. More people should talk about how evil D'arce is, bitch really is crazy.

Edit: chad god of Fear and Hunger >>>>>> virgin loser Logic
