Despite strong early resistance from some quarters, the national inquiry said it โis examining ways in which the testimonies and stories of men and boys might be collected in safe, respectful, and efficient ways, insofar as this potential information may be relevant to its overall mandate of examining systemic causes of violence, including sexual violence, against Indigenous women and girls.โ
Although collecting โthe stories of men and boysโ might not add up to the absolutely equal inclusion of males โ with many noting it does not overtly include investigating missing and murdered indigenous males โ itโs a sign the federal inquiry has been paying attention to a coalition to expand the inquiry.
Just an update to an ongoing issue that we've talked about on here. I got excited on reading the title, but then disappointed at the details. Thoughts?
