Methods for Downplaying or Side-Stepping Violence Against Men
Post Body
I made a write-up that goes into a bit of detail on six methods I've seen for downplaying or side-stepping violence against men. (I don't mean "methods" as necessarily intentional, but "ways that people talk about violence and gender that have the effect of downplaying or side-stepping violence against men" isn't a very good title.)
- Which of these do you see in action most often?
- Which have the largest impact? Do you think they have an effect on people's attitudes on an individual level? What about social policy?
- To what extent do you think that these ways of talking (which downplay or side-step violence against men) are intentional, compared to accidental?
- Are there any common methods that you think I missed?
