So, in keeping with our "we don't like devaluing our artists" philosophy, we've been keeping a lot of photoshop requests in the spam q. Like, a lot. I'd say 40% of our spam filter traffic is "do this trivial, boring thing in Photoshop for me that will be of no interest to anyone else" (another 40% is "vote for me so I can win stuff" and the remaining 20% is "give me money" or "give me a torrent invite"). We've been leaving it there because we've noticed that when the balance of "mechanical turk" shit goes to far in the red people in /r/favors get cranky and everything goes to shit.
That said, we have long held that any [offer] of artistic work skates through with nary a complaint. We've got a great community of artisans who do great work, but we don't want to devalue that.
So I'm looking for solutions. Should we:
a) Just let photoshop requests skate on through?
b) Put up a "photoshop thread" kind of like our invite thread?
c) Create a list of volunteers who will do photoshop shit for practice and link to it in the FAQ?
d) something else?
We've tried bouncing shit to /r/photoshop in the past, but not only is that subreddit dead but the readership doesn't really care.
Speaking from personal opinion, the photoshop requests bore the hell out of me... but I do audio resto when it comes up so I recognize my own hypocrisy.
Thoughts?
