I have NAFLD and I'm also extremely prone to overthinking my health. Ever since I was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and later NAFLD in 2021, I worry about every little pinch and pang I feel. So, while nobody can say for sure, I'm just curious: is there much reason for me to worry about the occasional mild poke or pain (generally no worse than what one would think of as gas pain, and usually not lasting more than three or four hours) in the right side abdomen where liver pain is generally thought to manifest, or is it 90% likely that anything truly serious will be an ongoing and more pronounced feeling?
Backstory for this: I had a particularly sharp and noticeable pain last Friday and went into a bit of a panic, which led me here and taught me that even though I have lost a lot of weight -- and in fact may be at my lowest weight in years already, which I think is a very good sign -- the way I had gotten there was not necessarily the best for my liver, and I changed up what I bought at my grocery trip the same day and have not experienced the pain since. I am feeling a little bit of something in my right side today, very intermittently (probably for less than a total of one minute over the course of the entire day so far), but I think that is probably a normal reaction to my stomach adjusting to my new foods, not a sign that something is wrong.
