Fathers, save all proof you have paid all child support. My ex and I had an informal child support agreement starting 12 years ago. We have not been together for 12 years. Things between us went south when I told her I am getting married to another woman. Without fail, I paid her child support every month. She just received a $12K judgment against me because I couldn’t prove that I paid her child support - from 12 years ago! I had paid her cash and switched to checks after one year. I was able to prove payment for 11 years but not for the earliest year. The award was for principal and interest. The court system is biased against fathers.
