Okay so when Gus kills Malvo he tells him he figured out the riddle and then rather than answering he shows him he knows the answer to the riddle by being the predator and opening fire.
Now what I didn’t notice before was that Gus actually takes a trophy, he knows better than to alter the crime scene and yet he takes Malvo’s knife. Which is a very iconic knife, the same one that slit Numbers throat.
Also if you watch with subtitles a [dark orchestra] plays here, considering that we see Gus kill one of the worst villains in the series you’d think it would have a more positive tone. My theory is that this is the moment Gus truly feels like a predator and perhaps in a future season, maybe season 5 he is back as a Vigilante of sorts that kills bad people and takes trophy’s and maybe Molly has to find out who this vigilante is, it could go a lot of ways but the fact that he takes that knife has really got me thinking about new possibilities.
