I just wanted to see thoughts on Ivan Perisic and why he’s not so popular. He’s played his first minutes of preseason and looks like he will be ready to go by the start of the season. People are off his him because of rotation but I don’t see anyone who takes that spot. Regulion has been terrible for Spurs and he even looks like he could leave if he gets the chance too. Emerson just seems like a backup to me seeing as he has signed Perisic. Sessegnon is just too young and I don’t think is good enough yet and then you have Doherty who would be playing on the right side instead. Perisic is the perfect player for Contes system and he is probably one of his “favourites” from before too. As for fitness he has not slowed down in minutes from the Serie A having played 40 games last season (Serie A and Copa Italia). The only issue I’d say he has is possible seeing early subs with this new 5 sub rule. But as for actually starting he should definitely be starting and getting quite a few goal contributions and 5.5 is a bargain for that.
