Just wanted to see thoughts on Jamie Vardy. I think he can be an amazing pick for this season. Every season we seem to hear the same thing about him slowing down and getting older but the results don’t seem to change. Yes he’s 35 now but over the past seasons he has managed to grab 18 g a (was injured for most of this season), 29 g a, 30 g a, 23 g a and 22 g a. Funnily enough, if anything his returns had started to increase as his age did. Obviously he has a slight rotation risk with the likes of Daka and Iheanacho but with him injured last season I don’t think neither of them really stepped up last season to show as a good replacement. When he had come back from injury very late on in the season we saw him still scoring and he still looked sharp. As for issues of minutes he still managed 1801 mins last season despite his injury and at least 2700 mins or more in the 6 season before this one! I would say he’s not a great captain pick but when in good form he can easily give a solid captain pick if the other premium you have like Salah has a tough fixture. At 9.5m I think he’s a very good pick and with only 4.3% ownership he can be a great differential. Leicester last season without Vardy looked like they lacked something in attack and now that he’s back he may well be starting again. Right now he is in my team as is rather go with the premier league proven in Vardy at a way cheaper cost than other premiums. He frees up so much money to be spent on upgrading other places. (Basically he lets me get in all the best premium defenders in the game)
