Of course having the two best assets in the game can help massively in fpl. However most of the value in those 2 players lie in them being a captain. A nice rotation of captaincy helps too but the only reason I can’t fit both in is because of not being able to look past other players as captaincy options as well. The likes of Isak, Watkins, Palmer, Foden, Saka, Son and even maybe Bruno or Odegaard can provide another great captain pick. If any of those players are in fine form they can most definitely pose as a captain threat as well which can just further diminish the value of a Salah or Haaland. They may not be the best captains pick but they can still be very reliable and can further allow for more points in other positions. I myself have just Salah right not but don’t see myself having both even with the great budget options going around right now (like Nkunku, Joao Pedro, Rogers etc..) Those budget players could prove value and paired with another Salah/Haaland seems more risky than having 2 solid options like a Palmer and Foden for example. Is having both really that worth it when you miss out on multiple other reliable picks?
