As I always preface my posts, I've been going since the mid-90's to Fantasy Fest. There are 2 main types of people who attend FF, what I call: 'tourists' and 'zoo animals'.

The tourists never dress up, put in absolutely no effort to be a part of the party, and always have a camera in their hand stopping mostly women on the street for their pics. They are usually pretty friendly, on the older end of the spectrum, but not always, and are usually in bed by 10p. As nice as they are, they are also annoying af, as this is a party where you can let your freak flag fly, with zero judgement!

Then, there are the zoo animals. They dress up, are very social, have a ton of fun, and are embracing the whole concept of One Human Family.

There is a lesser known sub-category which annoy me more than the tourists. They are the husbands and boyfriends of a zoo animal, but for whatever reason, they feel like supporting their zoo animal wife/gf, but putting on a costume is beneath them or maybe not masculine. I have no f'ing clue what their rationale is, but ffs, doing a minimal costume is just not that hard. It can be a funny shirt, a funny hat, some face paint, whatev's, but you look like a real tool if you don't even try and we see you, or at least I do... lol!

This post was meant to be somewhat humorous, but I can tell you with all seriousness, that one of the biggest complaints about FF is the ratio of non-participants to participants. The non-participants came to get pics and the zoo animals came to have fun! It's always so much more fun to be a zoo animal and hang with zoo animals! Embrace your inner zoo animal, and dress tf up!!! :-)
