Prologue

As we head out of WrestleMania 39, Brock Lesnar has obtained his eleventh World Championship, beating Drew Mcintyre! Now the World Champion, and a top heel at that, who can stop him?

Monday Night RAW (Post-Mania '39)

Heading out of WrestleMania, we start off the aftermath of it hot! Making his return, Big E grabs a microphone. He states that he's had almost an entire year to contemplate his career, and no matter where his mind turned, it led back to reclaiming the WWE Championship! As he says this, out of nowhere, he's ambushed by Judgment Day, who lay him out. With the scene concluding with them standing over the opposition, many questions have yet to be answered...

Backlash '22

Making his return to WWE, Big E's celebrations didn't last too long, and instead it led to...disaster. From that point in time, The Judgement Day continued to terrorize him, and the brutal assaults only continued. Yet another attack was unleashed by the trio composed of Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Tomasso Ciampa, with the former attempting to harm his neck once more with a Con-Chair-To! However, the duo of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would charge towards the ring, and took the fight to the trio. From there, a trios contest would be made official for Backlash!

The New Day vs. The Judgement Day - Trios Match

As we approach the highly-anticipated encounter, it can't be overstated that expectations had been shattered. With that said, this turned out to be a back-and-forth encounter, which could've gone either way. As Kingston and Balor were the only ones standing, the latter would hit a...BLOODY SUNDAY! Following this, Balor wrapped a steel chair around Kingston's neck, landing a Double Foot Stomp upon it!

Hell In A Cell '22

With the news of Kingston's neck injury being revealed, Big E called out his best friend's attacker! As the two met in the ring, the former stated that witnessing the events that transpired, it brought the past year back, and now that he's returned, he won't stray away from a measure of vengeance. On the other side, the latter responded, as he stated that he's been waiting to see this side of him, and rather than seeking out something he can't help, he should instead join him. Following this encounter, tensions grew. This led to the final broadcast before HIAC, where the two brawled in a parking-lot, and security separated them, before it was officially announced that they would meet inside the cell!

Finn Balor vs. Big E - HIAC Match

After months of fighting, we've made it to the big night! As these two stepped into the cell, they attempted to rip eachother apart. Using their environment for destruction, it became clear that not only was this personal, but neither will walk out the same. Nonetheless, Big E would wind up as the victor!

Money In The Bank '22

Putting his rival behind him, Big E looked towards the future - The MITB Ladder Match! As the stars of WWE began declaring for it, it didn't take long before he decided to do the same, stating that he failed to make the impact he intended to when he was WWE Champion, and he refuses to fail yet again.

Big E vs. Kevin Owens vs. Riddle vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sami Zayn vs. GUNTHER - MITB

Six of the promotion's finest look towards a similar future, which is a guaranteed World Championship opportunity! Throughout this bout, it became clear that any of these competitors could walk out on top. In the conclusion of this contest, both Big E and GUNTHER would be seen at the top of the ladder, trading blows with one another, before he would reach for it! However, as he attempted to do so, he was pulled down by none other than... BROCK LESNAR! As he laid him out, GUNTHER was able to retrieve the prize!

SummerSlam '22

With his chance to become WWE Champion lost, his intentions would be made clear the following night, as he went on to state that last night was similar to a fever dream, almost as if he had went back to last year, and he refuses to re-live it, he wants his title back. However, interrupting him is none other than Seth Rollins! He would claim that Big E wasn't ready to handle the pressure, and he surely isn't now, either. However, he's slayed The Beast twice now, and is much more deserving of a title opportunity. From here, a #1 contender match would be made official for next week!

Big E vs. Seth Rollins - WWE Championship #1 Contender's Match

Both of these individuals desired to main event this year's SummerSlam, but only one of them could. After an intense physical endeavor, Big E would be able to overcome the obstacles placed in front of him, and walked out as the #1 Contender!

As we fast-forward to the go-home broadcast, both individuals would meet in a split-screen face-to-face, where the former spoke first. Lesnar quickly stated that he costed Big E a chance to hold the briefcase for one reason - he isn't ready. It's why he couldn't walk out of Day One as champion, and he certainly won't this Sunday, either. In response, the challenger claims that he let Lesnar take everything he worked for, and he refuses to allow it again, he has to walk out as the World Champion.

In tonight's headliner, the story was hand-written, and neither individual was willing to find themselves on the losing end. After a thrilling encounter, it seemed like the challenger's dreams might be diminished, but after countering a F-5 into a Big Ending, he would hit another one, securing his second World Championship!
