Post Body

Having generated buzz as one of NXT's top prospects of 2020, Angel Garza would arrive onto the scene with lofty expectations on his shoulders, but in a short amount of time would prove why he became so well regarded to begin with. Quickly bursting on the scene, he proceeded to showcase to the world what he was made of by making it to the semi-finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament, and within less than six months of his arrival - Garza was able to capture the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Despite having all the makings of a star, his run at the top unfortunately would only last a little over a month, as "The Irish Ace" Jordan Devlin would thwart him to claim his first NXT Cruiserweight title. Ever since the gold escaped his grasp, his immense in ring talents haven't been able to flourish on the main roster, but now having been gifted an opportunity to make up for lost time, we’ll return to the fourth day of a title-less Angel Garza.

Build to NXT Takeover: Portland 2020

WWE NXT - January 29th, 2020

With the first NXT after Worlds Collide getting underway, the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Angel Garza's theme rings over the PA System, as he proceeds to embark on a journey down the entrance ramp. For the first time in nearly 45 days, his face has turned undeniably cold, with the one thing he has held dear to him is now no longer his. With a distasteful atmosphere surrounding him, he begins to slowly step into the ring upon reaching his destination, and begins to pace around the center of it, visibly upset by the events that have transpired recently. This doesn't seem to come to a conclusion for a few more moments, as he begins to speak in a calming manner.

He begins to speak about his loss, stating that he isn't the kind of man to make excuses, in-fact he finds them rather repulsive. So instead, he will only speak the truth as he stated at Worlds Collide, Jordan Devlin was indeed the superior competitor on that given night, but every individual has had a bad night in this industry. Furthermore, he promises that going forward, there will only be good nights to reminisce about, and he's going to prove that he is above this division. Whether that's simply fishing out new competition, dominating the past one's, or claiming new gold, he will do it. So to whoever wants to test their luck, he offers an invitation to anyone who dares to step up.

KUSHIDA's theme hits, much to Garza's surprise, as he marches down the entrance ramp, not keeping his eyes off of the former champion. Upon eventually confronting him, he states that after many years of fighting in Japan, he made the life-changing decision of leaving it all behind for one thing - bigger challenges. It now seems quite fitting that Garza is attempting to do something similar, which is why he proposes a match at NXT Takeover: Portland between the two, a contest which would test both competitor's skills. Quickly getting a response, Garza accepts his challenge.

While he respects everything KUSHIDA has accomplished over the years, this isn't about him, this is about proving that he's one step ahead of this division. What better way to prove that, then to topple the former Ace of the Junior Division', there simply isn't one. Upon the mutual agreement of a future matchup between the two, KUSHIDA offers a respectful handshake to Garza, the latter refuses to oblige. This proving while the respect may be there, he is clearly more focused on getting the job done in a little over two weeks time, a disgruntled look upon KUSHIDA is shown, as he witnesses the friendly nature of this battle has completely went out the window.

WWE NXT - February 5th, 2020

Following his initial face-to-face encounter with Angel Garza last week, an irritated KUSHIDA is seen stomping his way through the backstage hallways, his eyes solely staring in a north direction. He eventually slows down once he runs into Kayla Braxton, who calmly requests an exclusive interview with him, in-which KUSHIDA hesitantly obliges. She goes on to question exactly why he answered Garza's challenge to step up. However, before he answers, he simply looks at his right hand and proceeds to shake his head in utter disgust, as he recalls Garza's refusal to shake his hand last week.

He starts off by stating that he's aware of his many accomplishments in his time overseas, but promised himself upon moving to America, that he had to do the same in the states. However, that hasn't exactly panned out thus far, but answering Garza's challenge will give him the opportunity to thwart a former Cruiserweight Champion, and he doesn't look to take this match lightly. Especially given the fact his opposition refused to shake his hand, and ultimately felt as this was an attack on a personal level, and in due time he will teach Garza a lesson in manners.

WWE NXT - February 12th, 2020

As the show cuts back to commercial, the Portland go-home show continues to roll on, where Angel Garza is seen in an almost identical spot as his rival last week, with the only difference being his eyes attached to the monitor. Directly on that screen, the video showcases what KUSHIDA had to say to him, specifically about his actions, and as each word passes, his face begins to boil over repeatedly. Soon after, the video finally comes to a conclusion, in-which the clear livid nature of Garza has begun to spoil over, as his rival's words have clearly irked him.

He begins to talk about how putting this division in the rear-view mirror is a work in progress, and losing to KUSHIDA this Sunday would completely spoil his plans. That last week wasn't a sign of disrespect when he refused to shake KUSHIDA's hand, but rather keeping his eye on the prize, he didn't move to America to make friends, and he's sure his opponent would agree with him on that sentiment. He truly believes that there's a reason why his opposition has yet to hold gold in NXT, and it's because he heavily relies on good behavior, and less about how to get the job done. This weekend is about proving that he is above KUSHIDA, and that not all stories have a happy ending.

NXT Takeover: Portland 2020 - February 16th, 2020

Angel Garza v. KUSHIDA - Singles Match

With 22 days without the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, Angel Garza steps out from behind the curtain, determined to prove that he is one of the best in the world, no matter his weight. A cocky presence fills the atmosphere of the Moda Center, as he struts down the entrance ramp with a rose in his mouth, which perfectly matches the color pattern of his attire tonight. He begins to slowly look down at his waist, a reminder of what he lost, and what he's aiming for, as he enters the ring with a new-found step in his foot. Gesturing for his opposition to make their way out from the back, the crowd go silent, as they await for the "Timesplitter" to make his presence known.

Brushing the curtain aside, every motion the Junior Ace makes is premeditated as he slowly steps out, step-by-step as a huge ovation is heard for the crowd favorite. His eyes quickly shift focus from the crowd, directly to Garza, as a huge grin appears from his face. He continues to embark down the entrance ramp, as the bell we’ve all been longing for is just moments away. The reality of the situation begins to set in for both men, as KUSHIDA finally makes it into the ring, quickly getting into the face of his opposition. He walks into his individual corner without a second thought, as Garza does the exact same, both awaiting the ominous bell to eventually toll, as the match would get set to commence.

As the bell officially rings, both men are taking their time in making the first move, not wanting to make the wrong call. They simultaneously walk in the same direction, as they engage in a heavy lock-up, as they both are able to test their strength. Beginning to tug at eachother, eventually Garza is able to get the upperhand, pushing his opponent into the nearest corner, as he proceeds to ram his shoulder into KUSHIDA's abdomen area multiple times. Over-and-over again, the pain becomes clear for him, as he wearingly grabs onto Garza's neck, slamming a rough-looking forearm directly to the jaw, this action seems to be repeated multiple times until Garza falls to one knee. Feeling as this may be a chance to take advantage of the situation, KUSHIDA rushes off the ropes, and looks for a huge shot to the skull, but GARZA DUCKS UNDER, AND LANDS A DEVASTATING DROPKICK!

KUSHIDA slowly falls down to the canvas, a smirk emerging from Garza's face almost immediately, as he looks to continue the attack by hooking in a headlock. It's locked in tight now, as he continues to wrench on the neck of his opposition, slowly hoping to block the airway to breathe, but one thing KUSHIDA has yet to learn to do is quit. Which is why he begins to make his way to his feet, as he begins to jam his left elbow into Garza's gut, each blow lessens the grip, as he eventually has to fully let-go of it. Not wanting to let this opportunity go to waste, he runs at Garza and lands a DDT! Unfortunately for him, he falls directly onto his head, and the pain doesn't let up, as KUSHIDA looks to lock in an early Hoverboard Lock. Luckily for Garza, his instincts immediately begin to kick in, as he races to the ropes, in-which KUSHIDA has no other choice but to release the hold.

Once he does so, KUSHIDA is able to reposition himself, running off the ropes at full speed once more, looking to take his opponent back down to his canvas, but Garza has something else in mind. As he seemingly rushes to where his rival is at, quickly grabbing his waist, hoping to take him right back down to the position he was in before. However, KUSHIDA isn't looking to fall so easily, as he transitions into a comfortable position, and LANDS A HUGE PUNCH TO THE NOGGIN! Garza is shocked, and it clearly shows as he falls straight to the ground head-first, which might indeed be lights out for Garza. 1...2...KICKOUT! A close call for the Mexican star, but he's still in this contest, as both men would eventually make it to their feet after a full 30 seconds of recovery had concluded.

Both individuals would begin to stare daggers at eachother, as each competitor laid some nasty shots onto eachother. Each shot grows stronger, as both men hope to outlast one another, but unfortunately one of them have to eventually fall, which would inevitably be KUSHIDA. The cocky attitude of Garza would quickly return, as he began to land a couple of petty stops to the his opponent's skull, before landing an actual damaging strike. He wasn't done there though, as he would grab both of KUSHIDA's arms, trapping him in this awkward position, and proceeded to land multiple vicious strikes to the face. He begins to pick up his opponent, hoping to attack the targeted area, grabbing KUSHIDA's head, he attempts for a stalled suplex, in-which his opposition is able to evade the maneuver. For one last time, he places his arms around Garza's waist and effectively lands a german suplex this time! Not letting go yet, he picks him up once more, and LANDS ANOTHER ONE!

Knowing that he has surveyed his options, his last-ditch effort would be seen here, as he attempted for the Midnight Express, BUT GARZA ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY! Just in the knick of time, they both begin to make it to their feet, KUSHIDA would look for a running attack, but just like before, it didn't quite work out they way he had imagined. As he is caught by his opposition, who sends him flying back down to the canvas with a lariat, picking him back up AND LANDING A NASTY WING CLIPPER! 1...2...3...!

Angel Garza def. KUSHIDA (19:00)

Build to NXT Takeover: New York II

WWE NXT - February 19th, 2020

With 3 days having passed since Angel Garza's triumphant victory over KUSHIDA, he is currently already in the ring with a microphone by his side, as the broadcast returns from a commercial break. A rain of boos course throughout the entirety of the arena, clearly still not a fan of his, but alas he begins to state that this past weekend was undeniable proof that he is one of the best NXT has to offer. Now while KUSHIDA may not have fully believed that, he has no other choice but to do so now. But the focus is seemingly now about what is next for him, and where he will go after such a monumental victory. He says he's not quite done with the Cruiserweight Division yet, as he would like to put one last competitor to bed before his departure from this part of his career.

Continuing his statement, he begins to reminisce about Worlds Collide, where he lost the NXT Cruiserweight Championship without even being involved in the final result. He points to one man for the blame, that being Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, who wasn't able to escape the three count that Devlin laid upon him, which eventually costed him any shot at retaining his gold. Furthermore, before he moves on to better-and-greater things, he would like to lay waste to Scott, and prove that if things were different, a title change would never have been plausible. Wanting a chance at revenge, he challenges him to step up, and actually prove him wrong.

WWE NXT - February 26th, 2020

The following week, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott is seen surveying the backstage area, asking numerous co-workers if they know the whereabouts of one Angel Garza, wanting to have a word with him, it just isn't meant to be as unfortunately they are unable to give a definitive answer. Upon arriving at the men's locker-room eventually, he continues to bug any individual he can find to figure out the location of Garza, once again he isn't able to reach an answer he is happy with, and began to grow frustrated until he would be attacked from behind! It's the devil himself, as Angel Garza lays out Scott with a nasty lariat, screaming aloud "guess you couldn't prove me wrong, huh?" The scene ends with the former walking off with the addition of a menacing laugh.

WWE NXT - March 4th, 2020

With one week having passed since Garza's heinous attack on Scott, he is quickly seen at the exact area it all took place the previous week. He starts off by stating that when he first challenged Scott to step up, it was ultimately a test to truly see how much he has matured over the past month or so, well we all saw how that went down. So for his undeniable stupidity, he decided to treat him a lesson, that looking for him was a direct correlation to his immature nature, and that can't be tolerated. He claims that he doubts Isaiah will find himself back in an NXT arena anytime soon, and unfortunately their eventual encounter will have to take a raincheck.

As a former champion himself, he knows how it feels to be the center of attention. But that it shouldn't be on him, and Scott only brought this upon himself, as his failure to escape Devlin's wrath is what caused all of this, and the blame shouldn't be put all on him. His face begins to grow red, clearly filled with rage thinking about the past, and as he begins to speak once more, he is interrupted by Jake Atlas! Walking into the room, he starts off by stating that the amount of disrespect Garza has shown for Scott in the last couple of weeks has been nothing short of nauseating, and while he may not be able to defend himself tonight, he is ready to do just that for him next week, as he simply despises bullies of any kind. He walks off, leaving the challenge in Garza's hands now.

WWE NXT - March 11th, 2020

Following Atlas' challenge to Garza last week, the NXT General Manager, William Regal makes the contest official for later that evening. With this being the latter's first matchup since laying out Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, it's a chance for him to keep up the momentum he began back in Portland, and to continue his rebound from his unfortunate loss at Worlds Collide. With Atlas already warming up in the ring, Garza cuts a promo once he enters it aswell, he states that this contest is in honor of Scott, and he hopes he can make a speedy recovery. Moments later, he laughs this statement off, now setting all off his attention on one man, Jake Atlas.

Angel Garza v. Jake Atlas - Singles Match

With this contest officially beginning, the two would set their focus on one another, and with no singles history between these two competitors, there was certainly a sense of unpredictability here. Both men knowing this, they get set to do battle, with Garza using his vicious mini-superkicks to his advantage, while Atlas turned the tides with a beautiful PLANCHA. He proceeded to now attempt a Rainbow DDT, only for him to unluckily fall short, as his opposition dodged it, sending him into the ropes and nailing another SUPERKICK UPON THE REBOUND! Feeling highly confident in himself now, he sets Atlas up for the finishing touches, as he puts his opposition away for good, WITH A WING CLIPPER FOR THE VICTORY!

Angel Garza def. Jake Atlas (12:23)

As the bell tolls for a second time tonight, a smirk almost immediately comes across of Garza, as he raises his hand after his triumphant victory, clearly quite pleased with himself. Upon looking to leave the ring, he decides against it, and instead decides to lay waste to Atlas once more, stomping onto his face over-and-over again. Upon picking him up once more, he looks to land a Wing Clipper one last time, but is interrupted by a familiar theme song... Isaiah "Swerve" Scott's theme! He has returned after two weeks of recuperating, he runs into the ring and takes Garza down, laying everything he has on him, ultimately finishing the attack off with a JML Driver.

WWE NXT - March 18th, 2020

Fresh off of his surprising return, Scott is seen once again strolling through the hallways, this time in an extremely good mood. He is greeted by his peers, as they congratulate him on a successful recuperation period, in-which he seems grateful for the well wishes, but obviously he has other things on his mind, such as Angel Garza. He roams all the way out to the ring, where a loud ovation from the NXT proud is heard, a joyful expression appears upon Scott's face, as he is sure glad to be back.

He begins to talk about how in the past two weeks, he has been trying to figure out why Garza's heinous attack took place in the first place, but now upon returning to his home, he believes as he may finally have figured it out. For 5 months, Garza outworked almost everyone in the cruiserweight division, and won the biggest prize attached to it, but once he encountered someone who finally outmatched his skills, he lost it. He decided to blame others, rather than himself, because he was simply too embarrassed to admit the latter. So when finally figured out the person to blame, he took them out, attempting to prove he couldn't be the problem, but that just isn't the truth. He has returned to prove that Worlds Collide is on Garza, and he can't just take him out to hide the truth.

WWE NXT - March 25th, 2020

After weeks of attacks, nasty back-and-forth words, and antagonizing eachother, it seems as both men have simply had enough. As back in the backstage area, the two are going at one another, shouting out loud on how much they despise eachother. This continues until the fight is broken up by a half of a dozen security guards, they hold both of them back, in-which William Regal enters the warpath, stating that this nonsense must stop instantly. He goes on to state that while this seems to clearly gotten out of control, they both can resolve this situation, by going head-to-head at NXT Takeover: New York II! On April 11th, these two finally have a chance to settle their differences!

WWE NXT - April 8th, 2020

After both men having a mandatory week off to cool down, they return this week for a video face-to-face confrontation to hype up their match this Saturday. Giving these two a chance to make their case ahead of their eventual clash, in-which Scott decides to go first. He begins talking about how he's never truly had a chance to shine in NXT thus far, while Garza has been able to shine time-and-time again for a number of months. He isn't one to complain or make excuses, and he's never had any reasoning to, but when others decide to make their excuses centered around him, he has no other choice but to step up. It's time for him to not only shine, but to seemingly attain his ounce of revenge for what occurred a few weeks back, he ends off his statement by promising Garza that he's not going to want to underestimate him, not now, not ever.

After a few moments pass, Garza begins to speak next, stating that Scott is nothing but a joke, and he isn't worth any hype that surrounds him. He isn't making excuses for himself either, it's a known fact that he wasn't involved in the final result at Worlds Collide, but that Scott was. While that result will never change, he can make Scott pay for costing him the Cruiserweight Championship, and prove that with him out of the equation, things may have been quite different. He won't apologize for his actions over the past month, nor should he have to, but he can promise Scott one thing, that he will come out victorious in Brooklyn, and there isn't a damn thing he can do about it.

NXT Takeover: New York II - April 11th, 2020

Angel Garza v. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott - Singles Match

As NXT Takeover returns to the Barclay's Center for only the second time, it's only fitting that one of the more personal bouts of the night kicks the show off, and the man that has gone through literal hell for well over a month, makes his way out from the back first. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott comes out from behind the curtains with rage in his eyes, not stopping by to admire the NXT faithful, but instead marching to the ring with a purpose, that being for a measure of revenge. He eventually enters the ring, cheers raining from the crowd, until they eventually grow quiet, awaiting for his opposition to make his presence known.

"Machismo" erupts through the speakers in the arena, and with that the crowd raises to their feet, giving Garza a highly negative response, as they aren't very fond of his actions this past month or so. He proceeds to slowly walk out from the backstage, a huge smirk on his face, as he confidently struts down the entrance ramp, not keeping his eyes off of the man currently in the ring. Upon eventually entering the ring, the two come face-to-face, both of them butting their heads viciously, as they are only separated by the assigned referee, and make their way to their individual corners.

Once the bell officially sounds, we are off! Surprisingly enough, these two wouldn't come right after eachother, but instead decided to slowly walk up to one another simultaneously. The two quickly began to talk trash, trying to get in eachother's heads early on in this outing, this continued until eventually both had heard enough, and began to execute a lock-up. This quickly transitioned into a test of strength, where Garza was able to outdo his opposition, sending him down to the canvas, he proceeded to lock-in a headlock, wrenching it over-and-over again. Hoping to keep his opponent down for a long duration, this wasn't able to be accomplished, as Scott felt the energy in the arena and was able to use that to his advantage, getting back up to both of his feet and throwing Garza over his head!

Scott showcasing his immense amount of strength aswell, he begins to gloat at this feat, shouting for Garza to get to his feet. Instead of doing so, he instead crawls into the nearest corner, calling for his opponent to come to him. Scott quickly obliges, as he slowly walks over to the aforementioned corner, but being the highly intelligent competitor he is, Garza sweeps the leg, and sends his opposition flying into the turnbuckle! Falling directly on his nose, the thud can be heard throughout the arena, as he has to be hurting after such an impactful maneuver. Knowing that he can take advantage of the situation, Garza begins to run at the corner, RAMMING SCOTT WITH A KNEE RIGHT IN THE BACK OF THE SKULL! He isn't done yet however, as he picks him up, SENDING HIM RIGHT BACK DOWN TO THE CANVAS WITH A NECKBREAKER! 1...2...KICKOUT!

With Scott surviving the first pinfall attempt of the night, he smartly rolls to the outside of the ring, attempting to compose himself for the time being. But unluckily for him, Garza seemingly follows him out aswell, proceeding to grab his dreaded hair, and pushing him into the barricade. Over-and-over again Swerve goes, but once Garza goes to slap his opposition, he's thwarted by a slap of his own! A shocked expression comes across the face of the former champion, not expecting such a ballsy maneuver by Scott, going for another slap, he's once again countered by his opponent, as he RAMS GARZA INTO THE RING POST! Pain comes across the face of Garza, as he screams in agony, but that wouldn't stop Swerve from throwing his opponent back in the ring, and laying him down with a dropkick.

He quickly begins to head up to the top rope, calling for his opponent to reach his feet, and once Garza does, Swerve looked for a missal dropkick to possible spice it up, but Garza gets out of the way in the knick of time! Not looking to let this advantage go to waste, he would pick up begin to pick up Scott, lifting him above his shoulders, and sending his opposition right back down to the ground with a vertical suplex, once again Garza's strength is able to be showcased here tonight. 1...2...KICKOUT! Upon the kickout, Garza is is still holding onto Scott, as he looks to land yet another suplex, but instead he is able to thwart the maneuver, and land a JUMPING DDT! HE ISN'T DONE HERE THOUGH, AS HE LIFTS UP GARZA ONCE AGAIN, LOOKING FOR THE JML DRIVER, BUT GARZA THWARTS IT, POKING THE EYE OF SCOTT, AND PROCEEDS TO LAND A WING CLIPPER! 1...2...3...!

Road to NXT Takeover XXX

WWE NXT - April 15th, 2020

Following yet another successful Takeover event, we cut to the backstage area where NXT General Manager, William Regal is on a phone call. He seems to be hyper-focused on the conversation, but with all of the chaos going on in NXT as of late, you have to expect he will have a lot demanded of him. The camera pans out to the opening door as Garza storms into the room, wearing a brand-new suit, and began to speak a little too loudly. You can tell Regal is distressed and he is forced to put the phone call on hold as he opens the door and looks up to Garza, a little more than annoyed by the sudden interruption.

Walking into the room without a second thought, he looks to take a moment of Regal's time, starting off by saying that this past weekend at Takeover, he proved once again that he is not only the very best in this division, but above it. And with two talented cruiserweights in his rearview mirror, he believes that he deserves new challenges, and bigger challenges aswell. He also expresses his desire to take part in the North American Division, in-which Regal responds that while this is a big jump for Garza, he has proved time-and-time again that he can be a top guy here in NXT. So in two weeks, he will have a chance to prove that once more, when he goes one-on-one against Cameron Grimes.

WWE NXT - April 29th, 2020

Returning from commercial break, Garza is seen already standing in the ring, starting off by stating that noone has had a better two months than he has. Rebounding off of major losses isn't always easy, but he did so in record-time, and will look to continue proving that there isn't a single soul better than him, by toppling a hand-picked Cameron Grimes tonight. He refers back to two weeks ago, where NXT General Manager, William Regal, challenged him to take on the "Head Honcho", but before he can close his statement off, Grime's music hits. The North Carolina native makes his way out, stopping at the edge of the entrance ramp, proceeding to raise the microphone to his lips.

Grimes states, that while he may not be the biggest commodity as of late, he does think that he is much better than Garza, that he is the superior competitor, and he doesn't quite understand why Garza thinks of himself as such a hot-shot. He knows one thing for sure though, that when it's all said-and-done tonight, there will be no excuses to be made, like in the past, because the man that will have his hand raised tonight, is none other than him baby. And Garza will have no other choice, but to return to the much less superior division, where he belongs.

Angel Garza v. Cameron Grimes - Singles Match

Two wrestlers, with very different backgrounds, come head-to-head tonight to prove a point. With this match being important to both of them, they would quickly engage in a tight lock-up, which culminated in Garza being taken down to the canvas, Grimes used his technical prowess to chop down his opposition, ramming multiple elbows into the abdomen area of Garza. Eventually the latter would be able to fire back, using his agility to land multiple superkicks to the tip of Grimes' chin, this seemed to not be enough however. At a point in this contest, both competitors were at a stablemate, hoping to end this match for once-and-for-all, he looked for OVERDRIVE! However, Garza was able to counter into the WING CLIPPER FOR THE VICTORY!

Angel Garza def. Cameron Grimes (13:32)

WWE NXT - May 6th, 2020

Following his impressive victory over Grimes, Garza is more confident than ever, and it shows upon walking into the men's locker-room. Strutting into the room, he witnesses that multiple superstars currently have their head's down, unable to cope with their past defeats, and upon realizing this, he begins to mock them. He states that if they would like to have a glimpse at what true stardom looks like, they won't have to look far, as they are currently in the presence of it. And while they will never find the immense amount of success he has, they can always dream if they would like.

Almost immediately after finishing his remarks, he is interrupted by a huge shadowy figure lurking, with that man being Bronson Reed! He enters the room, Garza clearly shocked with this abrupt interruption, Reed would begin to speak, he started off by saying that Angel hasn't done nearly enough to talk down to his peers, and honestly doesn't know what his problem is. Three wins isn't nearly enough to outcast the rest of this locker-room and present yourself as some type of God, and he wants to prove that to him, proceeding to challenge Garza to a one-on-one match next week.

WWE NXT - May 13th, 2020

After the events that unfolded last week here on NXT, we’re met with Garza backstage in the gorilla position as he’s got an exclusive interview Kayla Braxton tonight. The face of Garza says it all, he’s annoyed, he’s irked, he’s not happy at all. And for good reason. Kayla Braxton calls out Garza to open up the interview, asking if he thinks his confidence has gotten the best of him on recent occasions. She asks if Bronson Reed is exposing some fatal flaws within his character. Those questions seem to only fuel the fire of anger and annoyance from Garza’s side. He gives a menacing scowl in response to Kayla and gives a firm response that Kayla has no idea what she’s talking about. He knows he’s got a a reason to be confident and this match is only going to prove that he was right to be confident this whole time. Once he puts away Bronson Reed, everything will make sense and everybody else will have a reason to be confident in him like he is in himself.

Angel Garza v. Bronson Reed - Singles Match

Entering the ring, with confidence in his eyes, the two get set to battle it out. Garza would have a tricky contest, set to face Bronson Reed, a huge fellow, who can use his athleticism and flexibility to create an extraordinary style in the ring that served him extremely well. On the other hand, Garza was able to use that same kind of style, but in a much lesser frame, using his stiff kicks to keep the big man down, provided with the flying and striking aura from the Mexican Native, it was quite difficult to keep him down on several occasions. Eventually, Reed's strength provided him a chance to secure the victory, but unfortunately for him, when attempting for a GROUNDED SPLASH, BUT HE MISSES... ROLL-UP FROM GARZA, AND WITH BOTH OF HIS FEET ON THE ROPE, GARZA SURVIVES REED!

WWE NXT - May 20th, 2020

Following a fantastic Takeover XXX, one man is extremely irked after what took place, that individual being Bronson Reed. The scene begins in the backstage area, where he is seen pacing around, nothing but rage filling his eyes. Proceeding to stroll around the hallways, numerous familiar faces begin staring at him, all of his peers only being able to stare at a man simply broken, as he continues walking, hoping for all the snickers to simply go away. They don't as you would imagine, but instead he would begin, for all to hear, and hopefully the most important man in this situation, Angel Garza to hear his remarks.

He starts off by stating that while Garza may have gotten the better of him, he is not defeated, because he knows what truly happened last week. Garza pulled a fast one on him, but he won't let it happen again, because eventually he will seek his revenge, and prove that Garza's tricks are the only reason he lost last week, he can't let it happen again. All of the staring will stop, all of the whistling will cease to exist, and when it's all said-and-done, it will be clear to absolutely everyone, who the superior wrestler out of the two truly is, but until then, he needs to find one man...

WWE NXT - May 27th, 2020

Following a clear-cut message sent by Reed last week, he is now seen outside of Regal's private office, beginning to knock on the door repeatedly, clearly impatient on waiting for an answer. Once the door is fully open, he demands for a rematch against Garza, at NXT Takeover XXX, he believes that he deserves one due to the circumstances of their last outing. Regal completely agrees, saying that if he truly desires another match between the two, then that's exactly what he'll get, as Reed/Garza II will take place in just a little over two weeks! In getting the answer that he wanted, a satisfied look comes across the face of Reed, as he shakes the hand of Regal, and walks away from the camera's view.

WWE NXT - June 3rd, 2020

Kicking off tonight's show, the ever-confident, Angel Garza makes his way out from the back, conviction beaming from his eyelids, as he grabs a microphone. He speaks on how Reed can't see the bigger picture, he had the chance to put him down for good, but clearly failed, and now made him the center of his excuses. It's quite funny, how the tides can change quite quickly, but he doesn't see this as a second go at revenge, but instead a second shot at embarrassing him, and that the result won't change, no matter the equation.

He is naturally interrupted by his looming challenger, as Reed makes his way out from the back, his voice can be heard even from the back, as he tells Garza to just shut up already. He states that no matter what Garza says, it's clear that he thought using under-handed tactics was the only way to topple him, and Garza's fear of him is shown by each passing week. And at this Saturday night, he will prove that he's not only the more superior competitor out of the two, but that Garza doesn't deserve to share a ring with him either. With this being said, he begins to grow frustrated, before Reed laughs it off and heads into the backstage area once more.
