Quarter-Finals:

March 16th - Korakuen Hall (Tokyo, Japan)

- Tetsuya Naito v. EVIL

- Kazuchika Okada v. KENTA

Tetsuya Naito v. EVIL

Head-to-Head Record: 3-2

With the final eight competitors left in this tournament, only the best-of-the best are now left! Both Tetsuya Naito & EVIL had one hell of a feud during the duration of the Summer season, with Naito coming out on top in the end of it all, now with the "King Of Darkness" looking to finally one-up his former friend, it all comes down to this. The quarter-finals kick off with this blockbuster match, t he two competitors going through the motions as EVIL muscles his former team-mate in to the ropes, before breaking disrespectfully Rebounding off the ropes to pick up some momentum, Naito charges at his opponent like a speedball who drops down and jumps over, before teasing Headscissors, only for EVIL to swat him away with a lariat! The two lock-up again, this time Naito finding the upper hand, catching an attempted big boot by the larger man, but looking to light him up with his signature flurry of lightning-quick kicks, that's exactly what occurs in this high-profile encounter. The Bullet Club Co-Leader is now limping, the kicks having a major effect on his thighs clearly. Now upon Naito irish-whipping his opposition into the corner, going for a Combinación de Cabrón, but EVIL is able to catch him in mid-air and toss him back down to the canvas with a destructive sidewalk slam!

No dice on the cover as exhaustion may beginning to set in early for the NJC 2020 victor, but no worries for EVIL either as he finds himself in his element moments later, employing his top-notch ground skils to rally with multiple punches/stomps to the abdomen area, followed by him grabbing Naito by the hair and dragging him to the nearest corner, as Bullet Club watch on intently from ringside, and unlike Jay White's last round matchup, help is requested by EVIL. The arena being deathly silent in anticipation of seeing who will get the last laugh in the first quarter-final contest, the two trade their signature maneuvers, momentum swinging between them like a pendulum. All hell breaking loose as EVIL attempts to lift him up in a fireman's carry position... only for Naito to sneakily escape, which follows with a beautifully-looking Missle Drop. He quickly dead-lifts the billed 234 pounder and lands a GLORIA!

Quickly going for the pinfall, hoping for this matchup to be done sooner rather than later...1...2...KICKOUT! EVIL KICKS OUT OF GLORIA... OH MY GOSH!!! Calling for the Destino now, he lifts his left arm in the air, as he grabs EVIL's hair and lifts him up by it. However, EVIL is able to fight out with his fists anyway possible, before he is able to create enough distance to hit yet another big boot! Going for the pinfall, can this finally put Naito away? 1...2...KICKOUT! HE KICKED OUT GODDAMNIT! EVIL now becoming extremely frustrated, he picks up his opposition and now lifts Naito up into a fireman's carry position for a possible Darkness Falls...IT CONNECTS - NO NAITO FINDS HIMSELF BLOCKING IT...EVIL FALLS ONTO THE CANVAS DUE TO A SHORT DESTINO! As he looks to finish the job, he picks his opponent up for another one, this time it being a REGULAR DESTINOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Falling into the cover almost immediately...1...2...3... NAITO ADVANCES TO THE SEMI-FINALS OF THIS YEAR'S NJC, ITS OVER! EVIL is clearly disappointed in his recent failures, and rolls out of the ring, looking back at the victorious Naito as he gestures to the crowd.

Kazuchika Okada v. KENTA

Head-to-Head Record: 1-0

The electricity is bouncing off the walls as the second match of the night is set to get underway, with both Kazuchika Okada & KENTA battling it out for only the second time in their illustrious career's. Okada sells the effect of the damage done to his body last round by Hirooki Goto, especially since he isn't getting too much of a recovery-time. As the bell rings, the two bump fists as a sign of respect, both knowing that they could eliminate eachother this round, and surprisingly instead of acting slimy as he usually does, a more traditional lock-up, as the two are evenly matched grapplers. A test of strength brings us no closer to a victor as the two back into their corners for a reset and once again go at it. A second lock-up ensues, with this time Okada being able to get the better of KENTA, placing a side headlock on his opposition, attempting to ground him in the process, he isn't able to do so as KENTA escapes with multiple elbows to the abdomen area forcing Okada to release the hold. Once both of them are back on a vertical base, KENTA places a series of forearms/uppercuts to the tip of Okada's forehead, but once he tries to run to the ropes... he is pulled back by Okada...A RAINMAKER..NO KENTA LANDS A HUGE ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE BRIDGE OF HIS OPPOSITION'S NOSE!

Upon countering the Rainmaker, KENTA has made his tough competition to fall to the canvas, picking his opposition back up, hoping to land a Bridging Tiger Suplex, but instead Okada escapes and lands a massive big boot! KENTA falls back into the ropes, Okada running at him, BUT KENTA DUCKS UNDER, SENDING OKADA OVER THE TOP ROPE... HIS SUPERIOR BALANCE HELPING HIM STICK HIS LANDING ONTO THE APRON! Not wanting any of this though, KENTA quickly meets him on the apron, landing a massive DDT ON THE APRON! The crowd become un-glued, on the edge of their seats now, KENTA lifts up his opponent and rushes him into the guardrail, Okada screaming in utter agony! Sending him into it again and into the apron! OUCH! Okada rolls into the ring, wanting to get away from the offense, but it just leads him to the attacker, as KENTA rolls into the ring aswell, as he claps to the fans in attendance. Thinking he has it all wrapped up, he begins to kick the side of Okada's head, intentionally being disrespectful, which simply infuriates "The Rainmaker". He continues the little petty kicks until Okada rises up and slaps the taste out of KENTA's mouth, following up with a TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! Following up....ITS THE RAINMAKER! KAZUCHIKA OKADA ADVANCES TO THE SEMI-FINALS, A TOUGH LOSS FOR THE NJC USA 2020 WINNER!

March 18th - Twin Messe Shizuoka (Shizuoka, Japan)

- Will Ospreay v. SANADA

- Jay White v. YOSHI-HASHI

Jay White v. YOSHI-HASHI

Jay White and YOSHI-HASHI lock up to begin, before White takes control. He knocks the veteran down with shoulder blocks, but then he runs into a Dropkick by YOSHI-HASHI. Looking to take control early on here against the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, HASHI takes White into the corner and keeps wearing him down with kicks to the midsection, putting on some real damage in on the abdomen area. Pulling him back to the center of the ring, he irish whips White into the nearest corner, looking to land a running lariat in the corner, but instead White is able to get out of the way, slingshotting his opposition into the corner! Following this, he attempts for a crucial neckbreaker but is thrown forward, and is struck with a a missle drop! Looking to finish this early, he heads for the iconic rollup...1...2...KICK OUT BY WHITE! They both rise to their feet...BLADERUNNER! THAT'S IT, WHITE ADVANCES TO THE SEMIS!

Will Ospreay v. SANADA

The bell would sound and the two men would converge on the center of the ring, much live his past matches, Ospreay would look rather aggressive out the gate, as both men engage in a rough-looking lock-up, both pushing back-and-forth, not wanting to lose a possible advantage early on in this contest. But the ever explosive SANADA is very capable of pushing forward due to his speed, as he breaks free for the first time here. The two circled around for a bit, before finally locking up, collar and elbow. The two wrestled around for control, shoving each other around the ring, neither really having a strength advantage here, both having a very similar stature. The tie-up finally came to a head, both members not making any significant headway, and finally breaking the hold once again. SANADA looked to shoot again, but Ospreay caught him again, LANDING A HUGE POWERBOMB! FOLLOWED UP BY A STORMBREAKER...VICTORY FOR OSPREAY!

Semi-Finals:

March 19th - Korakuen Hall (Tokyo, Japan)

- Tetsuya Naito v. Kazuchika Okada

- Will Ospreay v. Jay White

Will Ospreay v. Jay White

Upon the bell ringing, Will Ospreay bursts out of his corner like a rocket, making a beeline for White who’s caught off guard by a sudden forearm blasting him into the turnbuckles, followed by a series of palm strikes pummelling him into the canvas! The referee attempts to get in between them, trying to separate the rabid champion from his foe, as many in attendance are surprised by the pace from the get-go, though not backing down from the challenge as he dusts himself off and returns to his feet, gesturing for Ospreay to come back for him, wondering if that's all he has got. Instead, Ospreay requests a lock-up and that's exactly what he gets, as White obliges. The two lock-up, White controlling Ospreay's arm for the time being, but as he tries to ground the agile Ospreay, he latches onto his opponent and rolls over, grabbing the left leg of White, a series of stomps following this. The striking affair looks quite dangerous, as White screams in agony, knowing that he needs this leg to perform a majority of his arsenal, he desperately tries to get to the ropes.

Upon getting to the ropes eventually, Ospreay has no other choice but to let-up of his beatdown, "The Switchblade hops back to his feet, only for Ospreay to sweep them right back down with a leg sweep, White unable to really get going in this contest. This being until the United Empire leader starts to motion towards his opposition, White landing an incredibly-looking kick to the gut, attempting to shift the gears of this contest quite quickly, giving a taste of his own medicine, as the beatdown ensues, this time with Jay White being the attacker. With Ospreay's frame being pinned down to the canvas, Ospreay is unable to make the crawl to the ropes... to go anywhere really! It seemed White was closing in on a victory, until he picked up his opposition and looked for a BladeRunner...this not being the case as he escapes somehow...HITTING THE STORMBREAKER OUT OF NOWHERE! Falling into the cover, hooking in both legs...1...2...3..!

Tetsuya Naito v. Kazuchika Okada

In the main event of Korakuen Hall, we get ready to witness who will take on Will Ospreay in the New Japan Cup Finals... as the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon, Tetsuya Naito takes on "The Rainmaker Kazuchika Okada. We have seen this matchup many of times before, but this might just be the most important outing they will have, as they fight to reassert themselves back into the main event scene of NJPW. The match starts off slow, with Naito's tranquilo attitude oddly matched by Okada's lax attitude to the Ungovernable One. Naito dodges an early attempt at the well-known big boot by Okada, as he whips him into the corner and connecting with the Cabron Combination very early on here! Naito poses in the ring, his tranquilo attitude resonating with the crowd who clap quite loudly for him, as that's the best they can truly do, i'm sure they are screaming on the inside. As the match continues, Okada becomes more and more impatient and violent towards Naito's antics, stomping maliciously on Naito's previously injured knee from all the way in Round One, grapevining the leg for a kneebar. However, Naito rallies by reaching the ropes, and escapes when he is lifted up into an attempted flatliner, countering into a pin attempt...1...2...KICKOUT! Both men run the ropes and Naito hits the flying forearm, the first portion of this contest being all Naito!

He begins to get cocky, feeling as this could be his moment, he lifts his opposition up, looking for a possible Destino, but instead is rolled up by Okada, this specific pinfall attempt putting many away surprisingly in last year's G1 Climax tournament, but this time it wouldn't put away Naito as he kicks out at 2! Okada stands up, clearly removed from his best at this point, but he bears down on Naito regardless after the failed rollup sputtering out shouts at his opposition until he reaches him, snatching one of his opponent’s wrists and guiding him up by it, RAINMAKER...NO NAITO REVERSES...GLORIAAAAAAAAAA BABY!!!!!!!!!! Grabbing the hair of Okada directly following the insane maneuever, he picks up by his short hair, clearly looking to finish this bout already, with Okada now on his feet, he looks for it...DESTINOOOOOOOOOOOO- WAIT NO- HES CAUGHT INTO A TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! FOLLOWING THIS, NAITO IS BROUGHT BACK TO HIS FEET...YOU KNOW IT- RAINMAKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! That could be all, it's WrestleKingdom 12 all over again...1...2...3...!!! THATS IT! We will see a WrestleKingdom 15 grudge rematch in this year's NJC tournament finals, as Will Ospreay goes head-to-head against Kazuchika Okada.

Finals:

Will Ospreay v. Kazuchika Okada

We have made it bois...it's the NJC tournament finals! The last time we saw these two go one-on-one, it was in the Tokyo Dome, as Kazuchika Okada was able to achieve some revenge and defeat the traitor, Will Ospreay. But with such an incredible run in this tournament for both men, it's currently unclear who will walk out and challenge Kota Ibushi for the World Championship at Sakura Genesis. The bell would sound and the two men would converge on the center of the ring. Will Ospreay would look rather aggressive out the gate, lifting his leg for a couple of feints to keep Okada back a bit. But the ever explosive Okada is very capable of mitigating reach advantages with his speed. The two circled around for a bit, before finally locking up, collar-and elbow baby. The two wrestled around for control, shoving each other around the ring, Okada using his size advantage to mitigate for the advantage Ospreay had in the category. The tie-up finally came to a head, both members not making any significant headway, and finally breaking the hold. Ospreay looked to shoot again, but his former best friend caught him again, not feinting the knee this time, he lifted it, cracking his knee against the collarbone of Okada, he's reeled back after the strike, but Ospreay immediately followed up, shooting at Okada this time, taking him down with a Double Leg.

He wrapped his legs around the midsection of "The Rainmaker" trying to make sure the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion . Okada dropped his hands to the left leg of Ospreay, pushing his knee down in order to climb over it. As he began to claw back, bringing both the pair of him and Ospreay backward towards the ropes, until he firmly planted himself in half guard. Okada brought his hands back to his head, preemptively guarding the ground and pound of Ospreay, with both men feinting to get a sense of the guard they both strike eachother, before finally beginning to funnel in a number of strikes, with Ospreay's fists and elbows cracking down against the midsection and head and neck of Okada, ultimately getting the upperhand in this encounter. The disgust was visible from the stare the two shared, once Ospreay turns around, the two sharing blows over-and-over again they go once again, the mutual hatred for eachother is seen. It has been known for a while though, ever since Ospreay's turn... it has brought Okada to this brand new level... reaching the Finals just to ruin the dreams of the man he used to think of as his little brother. Upon looking for the RAINMAKER...OSPREAY COUNTERS INTO A MID-AIR HIDDEN BLADE... BACKING UP INTO THE CORNER FOR THE FULL ONE... IT CONNECTS! A STORMBREAKER FOLLOWS! 1...2...3... WILL OSPREAY DOES IT, OH MY GOD, HE BEATS KAZUCHIKA OKADA CLEAN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER!

Kota Ibushi (c) v. Will Ospreay - IWGP World Championship Match

Upon the bell ringing, they both move in, with the matchup beginning with a lockup sequence, it wouldn't last long as Will uses his agility to his advantage, with a series of flips & cartwheels to throw one half of Kota Ibushi off his game, but that may work with some other competitors previously, but it doesn't for Ibushi, as he imitates Ospreay, proving that whatever he can do, he can do it MUCH better. Ospreay backs up into the corner, not expecting such a cocky champion, shock arises upon his face as he uses his upper-body strength to lift himself back up to a vertical base. However, it wasn't quick enough to block a running attack by Ibushi! He runs at Ospreay, landing a massive knee into the cut, throwing him back down to the canvas. As a moonsault follows, with Ospreay unable to get his knees up, Ibushi's body crushing him in the process. Looking to continue the offense now, Ibushi heads back up to the top rope, looking for an old school Pheonix Splash... but as he goes for it...WILLIAM IS ABLE TO LIFT HIS KNEES UP IN THE NICK OF TIME. Now falling down head-first, not knowing exactly where he is at the moment. As we approach the closing moments of this contest, Ibushi looks to land a KAMIGOYE... OSPREAY REVERSES AND TRYS FOR A STORMBEAKER... IBUSHI REVERSES ONCE AGAIN... OSPREAY IS FINISHED! IBUSHI RETAINS AGAINST A FIERY COMPETITOR, IT WASN'T AN EASY ONE!
