''Everyone is the hero of their own story'' is cool and all, but has become a cliche by this point.
I am interested in a villain that acts, in example as a wounded animal - just wants the world to burn, not concerned about morals. Might makes right if you will.
Or, a villain that still believes he is the lesser of evils. Take the principal ''villain'' of The First Law world. He makes mockery of everyone who claims to be a ''hero'' (and technically - in his world, as far we are shown - he is not wrong to do so). His whole shtick ultimately condenses as ''Hey, we are not here to right all the wrongs of the world but to (make sure we) profit on them.'' The implicit being ''...[before our enemies do]''. And this is the most powerful living being in that universe saying that, not a pretender Thanos. :)
