So, I'm putting together a little article on misconceptions in fantasy over the average age of marriage for women and how large their families were, and I'm looking for examples from the last 15 years where girls under the age of 16 are married off because that's the age they're usually married at and where they have large families with more than 3 children at any one time.
The problem is, I'm not particularly well read. Beyond ASOIAF and the beliefs of that community, and some historical fiction (aka Bernard Cornwell), I'm really drawing a blank. I've really been reading too much history, older fantasy books and sci-fi to get a feel for the modern trends. Based on general misconceptions about everything from women's role in medieval life to contraception, I know there have to be many, many examples out there, I'm just not well enough read to know them.
So, any examples would be much appreciated!
