Hi! I am trying to get my mom into reading fiction. She wants to improve her English and is Latin. I figured I would suggest to her the way that helped me and that was reading fiction. I would ask her, but she has trouble saying what she likes.
Info for suggestion: I am diagnosed on the spectrum and have adhd and I am very certain we have that in common. So political/social intrigue isn’t high on the interest chart.
Her attention can waiver, but finding something that has some a strong female lead/captain america/paladin type and some action would help keep her engaged. She has always described herself as a bit of a tomboy and never had many female friends.
She likes happy endings and good coming ahead. She isn’t super interested in edgy things/ witchy things. Show has a strong sense of right and wrong. She is religious, but is very faith centric.
I really want to help her get into reading fiction and hoping can finally connect on this by having her find someone that she can relate to and be inspired by.
