I just wrapped up reading all three books in the House Witch Trilogy, which is described as a 'Humorous Romantic Fantasy.' Which...yes. It is. But it's also, if not exactly fully blown cozy, it's at a minimum cozy adjacent. Very heartwarming, very feel good, and features some really good found family aspects on top of the humor and romance.
My favorite fantasy series is the Black Company by Glen Cook, to give you a sample of my tastes. This trilogy is very far from grimdark, obviously, but the sense of family and humor from that series translates well to this one in a lot of ways. So that is perhaps why I enjoyed it as much as I did.
I would 100% recommend this for fans of books like Legends and Lattes (there is even a very, very, vey minor subplot that involves the introduction of coffee beans). I loved L&L, and it was my first experience with the cozy genre. So while I haven't dove too deep the older I get, the more I find myself shying away from bleakness of darker fantasy, and the more I find enjoyment in books that leave me feeling better about the world.
In short: life gets heavy sometimes, these are good books to help lighten the gloom.
