I would have Ben, Sue and Johnny all work together with Reed at an abandoned facility where Reed is a struggling scientist trying to get patents for his questionable machines and inventions. Susan is already engaged to Reed and is a month pregnant, acting as Reed's lab assistant and his voice of reason. Johnny should remain as chief engineer and can fix almost any kind of motorized vehicle and likes to spend days posting on Twitch and Instagram. Ben is a discharged air force pilot that was gonna work at S.H.I.E.L.D. before he was let go, now he aids Reed in transporting via driving his specially designed Hummer thanks to Reed and Johnny upgrading it. When Reed is called upon by Nick Fury himself to take a look into a cosmic anomaly heading for earth, Reed figures what better way to flex his genius than to work for the super spy's organization. Upon arriving at S.H.I.E.L.D. Reed meets and his scoffed at by Victor Von Doom, a man hired to prioritize new tech and weaponry for S.H.I.E.L.D. at the cost of working unabated and no knowledge of his existence. At first Doom is disliking of Reed but finds it amusing he can keep up with his scientific acumen. One day Doom trusts Reed with info on a secret project he had been working on... a machine that can channel the human soul briefly into the afterlife. Seeing this as skeptical and dangerous Reed tells to Victor's face this isn't a good idea and needs further study and preparations. Doom feeling insulted commands Reed leave his private quarters. A week later, Doom disappears without anyone aware of his whereabouts. Fury believing Victor may have told Reed some S.H.I.E.L.D. secrets but Reed opts Fury's questions out with his own. Fury personally tells only Reed he needs him to explore space cloud heading towards the planet and contain it for he fears it came from "something big". With little time to waste Reed preps his family to go into space to test out his new gateway machine he and Victor had been working on called The N-zone engine. After finally launching and reaching a S.H.I.E.L.D. space port, Reed, Ben, Susan and Johnny make their way to activate the N-zone engine, an energy well that can displace radiation and energy of any kind into a place dubbed the Negative Zone. The four are successful in activating all pillar charges but had not counted on the cosmic cloud to arrive so soon. All four people are bombarded with a fantastic energy that's neither harmful or dangerous, however, it leaves the team disoriented and unwell. Reed, Susan, Ben and Johnny are forever changed, mutating into something else. Reed begins to fall apart. Sue fades from existence, Johnny bursts into flames and Ben morphs into a giant monster made of rocks. Fury seeing no other alternatives pulls the plug on the N-zone engine and watches as all four people get sucked in. Fury commerates Reed by patenting his inventions under S.H.I.E.L.D then begins mass production of them to finally show Reed's work to the world.
