I just discovered a sweet little trick here on Reddit that allows you to set a custom flair on your profile. This is not a straightforward process by any means, but it's a cool perk that may make your profile posts stand out a bit more, and also allow you tools to manage your profile more easily.

Custom flair means you get the wording of your choice to the right or left of your name/username in your profile posts. For example, in my profile I assigned the "Certified Milf" flair to myself.

Along with flair, there are various other tools that can activate, such as Automod rules, profile mods, and other settings normally only available to sub reddits.

So how do you enable these features?

Well, the only way from what I understand, is to first create your own sub reddit, or perhaps become a mod for another sub reddit (untested). This enables the Mod features across reddit itself, including on your profile.

The next step is to figure out which Reddit "user agent" allows you to actually adjust these mod settings. Old Reddit is like partially migrated to New Reddit, so certain settings are hidden unless you're using the right means.

Desktop computers using a browser (not app) to access reddit should have all settings available. Mobiles also need to use the browser (not app), but they also must force "desktop mode" to expose sidebar and stuff.

Whew...you still with me? Lol!

After you have mod mode enabled, visit your profile. Like the main lander. You should see a new spot/button for mod tools available. Click it 😎 Then go to "Edit user flairs".

Now maybe it gets weird because as of today (2024-07-19) you may be dropped into..... Old reddit lol. Hopefully they fixed this by the time you read this later. No worries, you can still edit settings in old reddit.

In old reddit, you can't choose colors but you can still add a flair. In the bottom where it says "jump to user", type your username.

Then fiiiinnnnaaalllly you can add a flair to yourself, on your own profile 🤣

There are many other awesome settings you can use here as well. Your profile is basically a subreddit-lite..... Craft as you please!
