I’m writing a longfic for a relatively small fandom, and this fic is full of tropes and character dynamics that are by no means the most popular ones. The response as I have started to post has been, well, I won’t say nonexistent, but not too far off. I try not to worry about it, as I really am writing for myself at the end of the day. I still haven’t got any comments or bookmarks but today I noticed on the stats page my first subscriber! The idea that someone is interested enough to turn on notifications really makes me happy, and I feel a bit more motivated to keep going with this big project!
