This is just me letting out some steam, because I just remembered the first review I got when I began writing, and it still just rubs me the wrong way.
I had written a simple and short fic with a pairing, and involved an OC (the sister of one of the people in the pair) to make a silly thing where person A gets jealous, since he has never met the sister, and thinks person B is seeing someone else.
Now, looking back on it, yes it was really not that great. But not only did this person give unsolicited concrit (and written in a super condescending way), what rubs me the wrong way the most is that they claimed it was OOC for person A to pull thr sister away from person B, when in canon, person A has literally been seconds away from kicking a guy who he thought his crush was about to go on a date with.
Maybe it's just me, but it just rubs me the wrong way to try and claim that it's OOC for a person to be jealous, when he has shown clear jealousy in canon? (Several times, in fact)
