A long, long time ago I discovered a fic on Ye Olde Media Miner website that was a very long, heavy plot-filled crossover fic. I can’t remember exactly how many fandoms were crossed over in this story, but it was probably pulling characters from at least ten fandoms and threw in OC main characters to boot. It was pure wish fulfillment on the part of the author(s), clearly, and it wasn’t written perfectly by any means. Nevertheless, it hooked me quickly, and I began reading it and fell for this ensemble cast of misfit characters, some of which I recognized, and others I had never heard of before. (I do go back and read this fic probably once every couple of years, if that tells you anything. Mostly for nostalgia.)
I’m in the mood for another similar fic. I would love to read something that has a developed plot that isn’t just “pluck these characters from here and toss them in this world and let the chaos happen”. I love a well-written story that has few grammatical or writing errors. I’d love to have a mix of characters that I know mixing with ones I’ve never heard of before, but obviously you don’t know all the fandoms I’m into, so I won’t expect people to hit that exactly. Lol.
So any big, multi-fandom crossovers out there that you’d like to recommend I check out?
I’ve written for and/or read in several anime/manga, books, and movies. My primary fandom I write for is HP, but I love anime and manga (lots of old school stuff like Yu Yu Hakusho and Hana Kimi, Ouran High School Host Club, Hana Yori Dango, Rurouni Kenshin, etc) and have watched my SO tear through quite a few video games. I’m up to reading some things fandom blind as well, so if it doesn’t require extensive fandom knowledge, I’m in.
