I wish people saw Fan Fiction the same way they saw fan illustrations.
Post Body

I am an artist. At least, I try to tell myself that. My friends are artists too, illustrators to be precise. They draw amazing stuff, and doing that for each other and sometimes for me makes my heart just burst.

And then it gets weird. “Oh I could write a story for them if you wanted.” Now it’s not friends sharing artwork, now it’s weird. It hurts having an art form that a lot of people don’t appreciate, one that feels like a burden to share with people.

I don’t feel like an artist, I feel like a fan fiction writer, and it feels like those aren’t the same sometimes.
