I just got into a fandom where one of the main characters straight up doesn’t actually have a name. He just goes by his title. Usually when a character doesn’t have a name in the canon, I noticed the fans give them a name and it’s universally accepted in the fanon. This is not the case. Currently I’m working on a fic with this character and I’m debating just naming him myself but I feel kind of weird doing that if there hasn’t been an accepted placeholder name this entire time. The fan base is a decent size and the source material came out in 2015. Would naming him totally be ok or no?
