Hello,
My ex is seemingly dragging out the final trial process, ex hired an amicus and amicus conducted interviews on both sides including the child who resides with me primarily. Child told amicus he wanted to stay with me.
Been 4 months now and still no answer from amicus, and also it has been 15 months since temporary orders were issued.
The kid is on the honor roll, involved in extracurricular, is basically thriving with me. Could the opposing side be holding out for me to get a DWI or something to swing the case in their favor?
I asked my attorney if it was COVID holding up movement on the case and he said no, cases are moving along fine. Even he is perplexed at this point as the other side's attorney won't answer any calls or messages.
I guess my direct question would be......is there a limit on how long temporary orders can last before they're automatically finalized by chance? What could be going on here? Could we push to just ask the judge for a court date and finalize if they no show?
(I don't think this will work as ALL cases require mediation in this county before final trial)
Thanks.
