Me and her mother are separated . We have 2 other kids together. Her own daughter, 15 years old, and her don’t get along to the point her mother tells her to leave the house every time they get into an argument. Her mother expressed her wish for the daughter to stay with her and not me even when it’s my week with my children. We are co-parenting the other two small children. Although knowing her I know she likely doesn’t mean it literally, but obviously it’s affecting her daughter and I want to help.
I never legally adopted her, and not sure what I’m able to do. It’s not a healthy environment for her and it’s distracting her from what she needs to focus on, her classes among other things at this age.
Please help with how to help my step daughter. She is in the middle of a bad break-up and the mother has been making it so difficult for everyone. My concern are my kids, and their older sister, my step daughter.
