The episode is: And When the Sky was Opened wiki article here:(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/And_When_the_Sky_Was_Opened)
In this episode, three astronauts, safely returned from a space flight, begin disappearing from reality one by one. Once gone, all record and memory of the man is lost, save for the main character Colonel Forbes, much to his distress. By the end of the episode, all astronauts disappear from existence including the plane they flew into space. The only hint towards an explanation came from Forbes shortly before evaporating, that 'someone or something made a mistake, and allowed them to return from their journey'. This leaves things open for someone to pick up the story.
I was disappointed this wasn't already referenced somehow in Fallout, given the themes present (40s and 50s world, with some emphasis on retro-tech and space travel, all resembling sci-fi stories from that time). This story could be worked into a mod in a variety of methods. Some or all of the characters could replace or supplement the various people found on the spaceship during the Fallout 3 DLC, Mothership Zeta. Perhaps the player happens upon their bodies instead of the alien's at the site of the crashed ship that transports the player to the DLC.
I am bustling with ideas, unfortunately I'm not a modder nor do I know anyone who is. I know a project like this could potentially take a long time, but I think it would be a great mod. If anyone would consider doing this, that would be awesome! If not, a general discussion about the possibilities would be cool.
