I’ve spent several hours trying to stabilize my new load order, and have read about the need to only enable mods affecting ini parameters when creating a new game and then enabling the rest after picking up the pip boy and before entering the elevator with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. and character appearance prompt.
Despite my digging I am at a loss for what mods affect these ini files, or what these parameters are. Are they mods that affect things permanently, even when uninstalled, like say mods that enable 60 fps? What about mods affecting character creation? Is there a set batch, list, or type of info or data that are contained in the ini file(s) that is listed somewhere I can reference?
I’m on Xbox Series X. I’ve gone ahead and done a fresh reinstallation of Fo4 DLC with no data/caches attached, I just want to make sure I get this right for “The” playthrough. My amateur hodgepodging of mods was okay before but I’m trying to make things “perfect” so here I am.
My load order was decent beforehand and surprisingly stable with how much I enabled mid-playthrough before; I know, shame on me. Too many edits later and it began to croak, new playthroughs CTD before/during leaving Vault 111 without disabling basically everything.
I can comment my desired mod list (~100 mods) if that would help but my main obstacle right now is understanding which type of mods to enable before New Game and which to enable pre-Vault elevator ride to the surface. Some mods state this (ini vs not, “create new character for this,” etc.) but a good chunk don’t. Maybe it’s obvious, I just need a few pointers pls
