Nick Valentine won't leave Longfellow's cabin. Has anyone had this issue?

As title states, he won't follow me though he's a companion and when I try to dismiss him the dialogue goes through, but he's still my companion and won't follow. Has any had this issue or know of any solutions? I have an Xbox one btw
Edit: Problem was solved by completing the Eddie Winters Quest, in case anyone has the same issue.
