I don’t know how to really feel about 76.

(Long) I’ve been playing Fallout 76 since the first Xbox BETA, and after playing it for several hours and getting a decent feel on how the game works, I feel as if I’m ready to share my feelings on it.

I think that this game really should have been in post- production for a month longer. It really seems as if it was pushed out in order to hit the Black Friday sales. The bugs and frame rate issues, especially on Xbox, are atrocious.

On the other hand, Fo4 and NV didn’t exactly release in a perfect condition, either. (I wasn’t around for 3’s release.)

I also kinda don’t like the fact that it’s a constantly-online multiplayer game with microtransactions. Its really concerning with the fact that this seems to be the direction Bethesda is heading, with how they used to be the king of WRPGs.

On the other hand, it looks as if there is a lot for single (lone) players too. It has decent questlines and a lot to discover. I can really see that there was a lot of effort put into this. And as for the microtransactions, they are only cosmetic and fund future free DLC and updates. Which I guess is the way to go if you must have microtransactions. Besides, this means hat Fallout 76 will be the first constantly- updated Fallout game.

Some of the game mechanics are atrocious. I hate the fact that you have to press a whole different button to apply scrounging perks when opening a container. Even if you do, what’s the point? You’ll just fill up your inventory faster, and your camp stash barely holds more than you do. (Keep in mind I say this with a character who has a lot of points in strength and many carry perks).

On the other hand, Bethesda did say they’ll fix the CAMP stash. But only because we demanded they do. They were content to release a game where looting and crafting were essential, then punished you for doing so. I do like the perk cards though. I think it’s a great way to do perks in a multiplayer Fallout game.

(TL,DR): This is in fact a Fallout game, albeit one that was released in a horrible state. It has more potential to be good than it actually is.
