I decided to make a deal with Doctor Chambers in order to spare the residents of Covenant. As strange as the residents and the scientists are, I prefer to avoid wholesale slaughter. Honest Dan wouldn't be any wiser as I had managed to slip out of Covenant without him.

After our handshake, Doctor Chambers smiles and turns to walks towards a terminal. I see Amelia -- daughter of Old Man Stockton -- in a cell. Guilt washes over me as I realize that sparing the settlers of Covenant meant allowing Doctor Chambers to keep this girl captive.

She's obviously scared and possibly hurt so I try to soothe her through the cell bars.

"Everything will be OK. I'm here to save you."

She reels back as electricity courses through her body. Her body fell against the stained mattress on the ground, twitching violently. I had no idea Doctor Chambers would kill her right then and there.

Holy shit. I am a fucking monster. My mind is reeling as I think about the last words this poor little girl heard. "I'm here to save you"...

And the worst part was: MacCready liked all of that.

The dialogue you have with the mayor of Covenant after you spare the settlers and allow the tortures to continue helps you feel like slightly less of an asshole (thankfully).
