Operation Overkill
Post Body

I've had some fantastic experiences in Fallout 4, but I think I found one that takes the cake. I was exploring the map and stumbled across the Mahkra Fishpacking plant. On my way to discover the location, I saw that there was a Mirelurk Queen meandering about. Perfect! I had, stashed away in Sanctuary, a MIRV upgraded Big Boy. Now, I've been waiting to use this gun since I purchased it. But nothing I hadn't come across anything worth using it on. Until now.

Quick as a wink, I fast travel to Sanctuary and grab my Big Boy. Once I travel back, I see the Queen has buggered off. "No big deal," I tell myself. "She'll be back." So I go do a bit of exploring and, sure enough, when I circle back around, who greets me but big ol' queenie? Pop a quicksave in case things go horribly wrong and away we go! I run away to get some distance and then decide to use VATS to ensure I score a hit. Only, I don't have enough AP. Screw it.

I take aim, pray, and fire. Direct hit. A majestic series one explosions culminating in an almost too-bright mushroom cloud. One shot and that Mirelurk queen is paste! At this point, I'm laughing so hard I'm completely unintelligible. But I've got a quicksave waiting for me. So I reload with the intention of doing it all over again. Next take? Dead. Again? Dead. Fourth time? VATS to the rescue and paste again. After the first Mirelurk Queen gave me so much trouble, that was so incredibly satisfying. So much so that I made a game save just so I could kill it whenever I wanted.
