So while I really enjoy the idea of settlements. I do like the fact that you can create your own personal army and having the artillery shots. I have a few things I really don't like about it.
First I think they could have made the instructions on how to run it a little more clear (how to set up supply lines, assigning settlers to jobs). I had to actually go into the help section to find these things. Though I might have missed this part...
The next thing is when you look in your data sheet. It should tell you the requirement needed, like when working with your weapons. So instead of just having the ! next to the item that you need to fix you aren't guessing how much more you need to add to the settlement to make them happy and protect them.
Supply lines are a little hazy to me. I understand that they can share inventory from one settlement to the next. If you set a supply line from one settlement to another and that second settlement to a new settlement it should daisy chain and all three should share inventory. Rather than having to supply route each settlement to the others.
The last thing I have a problem with is it is too hard to see who is working and who isn't. When you have 10 people in a settlement you have to go looking for someone and you aren't sure if they aren't assigned a task or if they just taking a break. Sometimes they are so far away from their assigned task that you don't see the thing highlighted. I really really want, which I think would help a whole bunch, a settler chart or something inside the workshop or hanging up near by. It would be a list that shows everyone in the settlement and their assigned job. In this list you could see who wasn't assigned a job and assign them a task. You could click on their "name" and see all the tasks that they could do and just set it up. You could also look in their inventory and give them weapons. This would make it much easier to have everyone working and see what jobs aren't being handled. Also you could more easily add and remove the supply lines.
TLDR: I like settlements but they need some tweaks. Instructions are hazy, supply routes need tweaks, and need an settlers sheet for task assignments and inventory control.
