Hello all!
So I have had a rather busy month and found the government had screwed up on my tax, meaning that they require me to dip into 'Alice's video game fund' to, you-know, not go to prison and all that.
So basically that left me with no money for FO4. So what I have decided to do instead while saving up again is to break out the classics.
I found an old windows XP netbook from the late 2010s in a cupboard at work and I asked my boss if I could buy it off him.He was more than happy for me to just take it. The netbook is so old it still had XP SP1 installed, but I managed to find an offline copy of all the updates (Too scared to connect it to the internet!)
Fast forward an hour or so, I now have a (soemwhat) portable retero-gaming machine! I have loaded up a bunch of old classics, including Fallout 1 & 2
My plan, basically, is to play through the entirety of Fallout 1 and 2 with the 'same' character, the same one I use on my current F03/NV TTW playthough....
I used to love old iso-metric strategy and fantasy RPG games when I was younger, but I had only dabbled in the originals. Now with this little Netbook I can play all of my old classic games offline while commuting to work or during my lunchbreak.
Without any spoilers, I have just astarted FO1 and I am already panicking due to the 'timer' but I have found some rope and I think I will be allright. It certainly is refreshing having less 'help' in knowing what to do... Although I am still getting used to the controls!
Any other retrogames that people would recommend for me to play inbetween?
