Sure, President Eden was willing to kill pretty much everybody in the wasteland. But Colonel Autumn wasn't and even went rogue to try and prevent Eden from succeeding in his plans. Although they both have the same goal of restoring the wasteland. Unless there are story beats that I missed while playing Fallout 3, I never felt good about destroying the enclave.

I desperately wish I could have spoken to Colonel Autumn. I wish there was a diplomatic solution at Project Purity.. after talking to President Eden, he seems genuine in his promises of restoring America.

I will say that I didn't go without noticing that Enclave soldiers are the only soldiers in power armor that will attack wastelanders on site. Or at least, the player character. Even though the outcasts thought very little of me.. they wouldn't shoot me on site. Neither would any Brotherhood soldiers
