I wasn't expecting very much (I don't normally play MMOs) plus I had watch the disasterous launch unfold in real time so i was sort of jaded against it. But one common positive that people kept repeating is that the community that stuck with it make up one of the best communities in any MMORPG.
A few days ago, some high-level players approached me at the Tyler County Fairgrounds, and talked me into following them. I did because I was overencumbered (as usual) and was hoping they had a stash box at their C.A.M.P. The three of us fought off the waves of Scorched, and one of them began setting up the site.
I have to tell you, while I'm still not 100% sold on 76, those few moments was one of the best gaming moments of my life. The three of us were running around in our virtual playground being silly AF and not caring. And the generosity! I'm super kitted out with some great armor and handy weaponry, along with some ultra rare serums. And they asked for literally nothing in return. I feel like if veterans of games always treated n00bs with respect and awesomeness, the online sector of the gamersphere would be a much better place and I would play MMOs more often.
Thanks, 76. You're not as terrible as people say.
