Hear me out… some songs just sound sad and their lyrics are super obvious about a sad topic. Slow tunes, long notes of despair, there’s a lot of stereotypical ways to make known a song is all-around sad (think of Golden).
But Jet Pack Blues hits different. The verses set you up for the heart wrenching chorus that feels like a punch to the gut. Have you ever felt such immense sadness and loneliness that it’s eating a hole in your heart? That’s what that song feels like.
Jet Pack Blues is one of a kind in my opinion. It comes off as a song about losing someone but in the worst way possible.
Overall I think it deserves more praise. I wrote this out because I’ve been sobbing to it for the past hour, it’s just so effective at making you FEEL.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Love you guys!
