Making fabric shiny?

Hey! So I have this dress that was made from ‘60s curtains, and I think they used shiny cotton rather than making the product and then making it shiny. But I washed it really carefully and it still lost its shine, it looks so dull. Is there anything I can spray or coat it with to bring back the shine or make it shimmer? I know nothing about this so any help is greatly appreciated!
