What Fable 4 needs to succeed

Post Body

**** you. This is what I want.

• badass morality transformations. Fable 3 was underwhelming in the visual changes and it made the choices feel less important.

• most of us agree they need to get rid of guns lol.
(Edit: ok I get it y’all like guns. Keep them in the game but add them in slowly so we can start out with bows and eventually we have guns develop. A good idea would be having an option to help set industrialization into motion thus guns coming into the game. But if you choose not to then it stays as bows)

• the world doesn’t need to be the biggest or even the best graphics. That’s never been fables lane. And trying to compete with Elder Scrolls and Elden Ring is pointless. What sets Fable apart was the interactions with the world and the changes that could happen because of how you play. They need to focus on that first and size second.

• expand on the economics in the old fables. It sucked how easy it was to exploit and become extremely wealthy. But the parts they did great was how you could single handedly effect towns economies. It’s be great to see the economy changes become more drastic like visual changes aka more beggars and homes falling apart.

• keep the core of the fable lore. I don’t care if they turn away from the convoluted parts to have a more blank slate, but make it feel like we’re in the same world still at least.

• really show the changes that come with time. I love how in fable 2 after the 10 year gap you come back to oak field either flourishing or wrecked and west cliff turned into a town if you invested. But that was 2008 and we’re in 2022 babyyy. I want to see the cause/effect happening thru out a play thru.

• No matter what. Please. More then anything don’t have it be like fallout 4 where we can just free build towns. That would not work for fable and replay value would be worse.

• have the choices we make less black and white. Make outcomes less predictable. The replay value would be insane.

• for the love of god add a variety of clothing/armor. I loved fable 2 but the outfits were trash and I just ran around in underwear. At least in fable 3 there was a badass set of armor lmao.

• and the weapons don’t have to be crazy complicated but adding more then just a tier weapon system would be awesome. Unique weapons to pick, and even some behind difficult morality choices.

• last but not least. BAD*** TRANSFORMATIONS. ***** I’m tryna be the coolest looking real estate tycoon devil to ever exist. 😈

Yeah I agree. This series has been thru some shit fr🤣 but if this is a flop then i have a feeling it’s officially done for. And fable has way too much potential to be thrown away and forgotten about

I made a edit to the post and added an idea that would keep both sides happy 😃

I don’t hate them. But they came into play way too fast. People loved bows in the first one and all of a sudden into the second game of the series they were completely gone.

On point I f with u 💜. I see what your saying about money and real estate is a muuust keep it just needs changes. If they figure out how to make it realistic in a way where you can’t just buy and sell ya way to owning a whole town in an hour that’d be amazing. Making it like real life where most average people can’t afford it and you really gotta work ya way up to the top

Yeah I was thinking about how easy it was to go from pure evil to pure good. It would be cool to see visual changes happen when you go from one side of the spectrum to the other. Like if your pure evil and have huge horns, then if you become good later you still have horns but you have a holy glow and a halo. Or if you go from good to evil, you still have a halo but it’s more sinister looking like you’re an angel that was corrupted

Yeah I really want growth in the new game and have it tied into choices you make and how well the economy does due to your financial decision. And morality changing more then just a few lines of dialogue at the end would be awesome to see

Combining spells was sick in the third one. There was some really cool things they did in 3 that I hope they keep. It gets a lot of hate but wasn’t a baaad game

They’re saying late 2023 or 2024. Supposedly it’s been in production for a while now

[not loaded or deleted]

That’s a good point I never thought of it that way

Way I originally wrote it was bulletined out but Reddit jumbled it all together. I fixed it. And I don’t mind the industrialization but it was way too fast of a switch and the game we loved wasn’t the same by the third installment. If there is guns they need to introduce them slowly over the coarse of the game as time passes

I love these ideas fr

Same here but if they give us another fable one I would be disappointed tho. It’s been 20 years and what they could do with the technology we have now is what the original creators of fable dreamed of

I don’t mind the guns if they’re slowly added into the game. If the rumors of an asteroid hitting and resetting Albion, then slowly adding in guns as time advances would actually be sick. But I guess it’s just opinion I felt like base fable 2 wasn’t enough clothing to actually make my character feel unique. Was mostly just towns folk clothes and a select few sets that actually seemed like a hero’s attire

Ah damn I kinda thought that idea was badass
