Dribbling drill

Hey guys, brand new player here, just wondering if you had any tips on how to make the "dribble to the end of the pitch" drill easier? My touchscreen might not be that great, but i'm struggling with just making it down the pitch, let alone managing to score before getting dispossessed. Btw is there any way to change the default player? Cheers
Edit: Default is Wells(71), 83sprint, 85 accel, 70 dribb, 70 ball control.
