Hysto or no hysto- what did you do?
Post Body

I'm looking for the perspective and experience of others. For those who have been on T for several years, and/or identify as male- have you had a hysto done, are you planning to, or did you decide not to?

I have one scheduled. I have zero interest whatsoever in having children so I have no issues/concerns about no longer being able to bear children after the surgery. I am thrilled at the idea that I will never again have the possibility of the "unwanted monthly visitor" that tortured me mentally with the reminder of being feminine, and physically with cramps for so many years.

The only thought/concern I have is about having to be on hormones for life after this.

I know some doctors have said a hysto is not necessary as long as the female processes have already shut down, while others have said it's best to do within 5-6 years of starting T to reduce risk of cancer or illness.

Has anyone had any fears or concerns about those organs being taken out?
